So here you go Death City, and more importantly you knew inhabitants, you are now seeing video of a considerably-sized dragon in his apartment, tail languidly swishing from side to side.]

To all the new residents of Death City, greetings.

By now I trust that you all know what role you are able to take should worst come to worst, which is a very real threat in this world. It might seem a far-off threat, but those of us that have lived here for a considerable amount of time know that it is still very, very real.

If you have not jumped back or turned your off for fear of me, then I commend you. My name is Temeraire, and while I may be a dragon, it does not mean that I will randomly attack any one person in this city.

I am a part of the Watch which means that I am here to protect everyone in my patrol area, so rest assured that I will never mean you any sort of harm... for the most part.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them to the best of my abilities. Until then, I hope that you will make the best of your circumstances while you are here.

Pray do not worry much about me, though I really do appreciate it, even if we have known each other for a short while.

What do you mean with a "good dragon," young miss? Where I am from, we are numerous.

Well, not my particular breed... but dragons as a whole entire race cannot be said to be either good or bad, as much as anyone can say that a human can be good or bad. It would be silly to think otherwise, would it not?

You cannot understand my existence as a dragon?

I am not sure where to start. You look like nothing I understand.

Where I come from, dragons are usually considered to be... quite evil. But I believe they are also quite rare.

I think it has to do with the fact that I've been in battle before. I can be friendly toward most everyone, but if they cross me in an unacceptable manner, I will have to do what it takes to keep people safe from danger and meet out the danger itself head-on.

It is only quite sensible to do, is it not?

Of course! We're friends, right? Or, at least, we can be.

Perhaps it is only because people in your world might not have treated dragons properly that they might react negatively. It is for self preservation, much like any one person would fight for their personal well-being if it is threatened.

I am only sorry that they are considered to be evil in your world, miss, for where I am we work closely with humans for the most part. As for rarity -- I think I have come to expect that they would be rare enough in other worlds, or not exist at all.

I am like most animals that have four legs and a tail. I just happen to have wings, much like a bird, and can fly like one too.

Except that instead of feathers, I am covered in scales, akin to a snake I would believe.

I prefer to eat flesh, though I am amenable to eating rice along with several tasty types of vegetables and spices.

As for working the communicator, I have rather fine talons with which I can use several commands on it, which allows me the video and voice options. However that is also why I personally do not use the "text" option.

Well pardon me, but my ancestors were revered in China, and were highly celebrated scholars. They would never be dealt the indignity of living in a dark cave like you would describe.

[Forget the fact that he himself had to live in one that he had personally tidied up. But it was not because he wanted to, but out of necessity...]

My apartment is rather respectable, and something that is equitably given to most everyone here, so I do not complain about it.

Perhaps, but I only use that which I personally find useful. A bed, the sofa, the communicator is highly useful. Other small things which I can now use than I could before.

It is most definitely not pleasant! I am incensed! I am outraged!

How dare she consider what we do to be chest-puffery and vague useless policing? We are trying our best to keep everyone safe for what it is worth. It might be something small as a robbery, but it could be something as serious as a Kishin egg.

[He REALLY needs some soothing. It is not healthy for an angry dragon to have no outlet in which to vent said anger.]
