So here you go Death City, and more importantly you knew inhabitants, you are now seeing video of a considerably-sized dragon in his apartment, tail languidly swishing from side to side.]

To all the new residents of Death City, greetings.

By now I trust that you all know what role you are able to take should worst come to worst, which is a very real threat in this world. It might seem a far-off threat, but those of us that have lived here for a considerable amount of time know that it is still very, very real.

If you have not jumped back or turned your off for fear of me, then I commend you. My name is Temeraire, and while I may be a dragon, it does not mean that I will randomly attack any one person in this city.

I am a part of the Watch which means that I am here to protect everyone in my patrol area, so rest assured that I will never mean you any sort of harm... for the most part.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them to the best of my abilities. Until then, I hope that you will make the best of your circumstances while you are here.

What exactly is the "Watch"?

I can still fly, and I am stronger than any human in this city due to my bulk and claws. Aside from that, who says I have not kept my natural powers?

I am a weapon. A Chinese longsword to be exact. I do not know about whether or not one is supposed to be impressed about BREW's abilities, but I do concede that it is rather interesting.

Supposedly they're "unusable" here, though given the absence of my thaumaturgical crest and magic circuits entirely it's obvious they were taken instead. I guess you could argue that it may be different for species other than humans, but this place does seem pretty strict in imposing its own standards, even if it doesn't even remotely make sense to do so. Otherwise they would have a much stronger army.

Perhaps that is more BREW's doing than their own. Not to mention that normal and conventional weapons seem to be of little use against the witches, when compared to living weapons like myself and other human weapons, when paired up with a meister.

As for my own abilities, I do not know. Perhaps because you are talking about technology by these "circuits" that you have mentioned? I do not know, but it is something to consider.

The Watch is an organization that helps police the city, helping to keep the peace. When the need arises, we are a dependable line of defense when it comes to dealing with the witches and kishin eggs aside from the members of Shibusen.

No, not technology; magic. I can see why normal weapons would be one thing, but I would think that being a magus my magic would be just as effective against the witches as theirs.

Then would that not have made you a witch yourself, if you practice magic in this world?

Perhaps BREW took precautions when it concerns people that have abilities like yours?

The ability to be either a Meister or a Weapon, as well as BREW itself, is all magic as well, granted the former channels magical ability differently. I can't say I know just what sort of magic the witches here practice, but I would think that theirs would be different from magecraft if what they study really is witchcraft in the truest sense of the word. Well, either way, the fact that they're able to use their magic in such a way means that my magic isn't in fact "unusable" after all.

I'll admit I would like to take a look at BREW for myself, especially since it bears a lot of resemblance to a similar device in my world.

That much should be obvious, seeing as people can see me for what I am.

Care do add anything else that might be of value?

You did say "cool," did you not? I think it is a modern colloquialism that does not really refer to a cold-like temperature, but something more of a comment meant to convey something with a positive connotation, does it not?

It is quite interesting. While I was not in China for most of my life, I am quite glad of the work I did with the military.

There are a fair amount of different sorts of people here in Death City, and they are quite pleasant for the most part. Some... leave much to be desired, but otherwise it is quite nice.

Ah, pardon for my having misunderstood what you meant with that. Well then, Ms. Sexy, I find it interesting that you were able to time-travel across time and space.

Have you perhaps gone to the times in Britain when they fought against Napoleon?

My talking is not such an odd thing, or is it? Every dragon talks where I come from, though I suppose it is grand that you are not running away from your communicator screaming bloody murder, as one of my crew smentioned once.

I'm glad, then. I don't know much about the military or far off places...I spent most of my life so far in one place.

Oh, yes, most everyone I've met here so far has been very kind. Though some are a bit strange.
