[SPIKE THINKS THIS IS ON AUDIO. Unfortunately, he fails :( Everyone can see the lovely hipster glasses he never wears out of the comfort of his apartment.]

Everyone coming home for the holidays? How touching. I'm almost tempted to shed a tear. While you lot were off eating chocolate in the mountains, we were getting attacked by those egg things. Whatever. [waves a hand though he still thinks you can't see him]

Christmas is the same as any other day really. Anticipation right through let-down. Just like any other day.

[Mary's wearing a festive red dress with a white faux fur collar. She has her hair down and flowing as she smiled brightly into the camera.] So, who would like to exchange gifts? I've been working on some things for people in my spare time, [Which, if you know her you would know it isn't much between tutoring and work.] and I would be more than happy to exchange gifts with anyone else!

Oh, and I got something for each of my tutors. If you would like, I was thinking that perhaps I would have a little tea party in my apartment for all of you, and my friends too, of course. Please, just let me know if you are interested!

[[OOC: I realize I have been total derp, and that I have not contacted most of her tutors since I first mentioned it, and that's totally my fault. I have her schedule linked above, so if you are on there as a tutor and don't have the time anymore or something, let me know? It'd be mostly hand-waved, but a good start for some CR.]]

[Private to Watson, Holmes and Nataku:]

Am I still going to be spending Christmas with you? Nataku did mention something, but I want to make sure that I am not imposing. I would just like to know now so that I may try to find some alternative plans if need be.

Death City Times

SHIBUSEN LUCERNE FALLS

An attack last night has reduced the Shibusen Lucerne, Switzerland base to the same fate as its partner. Many of the agents were able to escape to the Linz, Austria base via death mirror before the expansion of the newest black ball. Death toll of civilians and agents in the base have amounted to 96 with some individuals still missing.

A similar attack was attempted on the Shibusen Linz, Austria base last night, but was successfully defended by the agents in the base at that time. Shibusen has not yet released information on the perpetrators.

Shibusen Ravensburg, Germany, was also attacked, but was successfully defended by the West European Deathscythe Justin Law.

“They are attacking bases at the same time,” Shibusen public representatives stated in a press interview this morning after the European events. “They know that [the] Deathscythes can’t be in many places at the same time.”

Shibusen will add more density to its European defenses in the coming days. In the mean time, evacuations of Lucerne, Liechtenstein, and Linz are still underway. Shibusen Australia will be sending its Deathscythe, Marie Mjolnir, and more agents in the following days to assist in the defense of the other bases.

MADNESS SALE ENDS, BOARD UNDER FIRE

Last night marked the last day of the Great American Sale, also resulting in the highest death toll of any shopping event in the past century. Numbers have reached 88, with an as of yet undetermined number of civilian injuries.

“The shoppers were affected by madness because of the high-stress situation,” said Tom Garter, chief of the American Board of Industries.”We didn’t know it would happen, or that it was even possible. We’ll look into this for future events.”

The American Board of Industries is facing charges of negligence from fourteen state courts. Malls nation-wide are rising in protest at the heavy fines and damage claims from victims of the madness sale.

Shibusen NA is also claiming fees from the Board for neglectful planning and for failing to stop the sales in time. The organization had to spend almost a million in compensation for mall-related missions on the weekend.

“That [the Board] did not foresee this despite warnings -- that we had to pull agents from the field to take care of what should be a simple event planning job -- is unacceptable,” said a Shibusen spokesperson. “The weekend produced more kishin eggs nation-wide in a day than the entire country’s gotten in three months. Between the recent attacks in Europe and trying to keep our streets clean triple-time, our agents are stretched thin.”

[That was a long weekend, wasn't it? Have a look at your injured in Linz and at home.

Don't forget Activity Check, either. It's driving time this month, so play nice, me lads!

Today's temperatures are 12/-6F (-11/-21C).]

[ It's roughly 10PM, give or take when the feed begins -- and if you thought his voice was unenthusiastic and lifeless before, this is Sougo's voice on painkillers. ]

I can't sleep. So I'm going to tell you guys a bedtime story to help. It's a Christmas story to keep things festive. I haven't come up with a name for it. As a matter of fact, I haven't even thought of the story, but don't worry -- I'm a natural born storyteller.

That being said, I proudly present to you: The Death of Hijikata-san............on Christmas (it's a working title, subject to change...) Let me know what you think.

this is not an IC cut )
