The festival was quite wonderful, for starters - much thanks to the one who organized it, I had a good time especially with those pies. [Minus Flynn's pie, and Phoenix wonders just how did that pie win third place again...] I hope everybody else had a good time, too; we should have more of these things, just to keep up the spirit of this place, no?

That said - Christmas itself is coming pretty soon; funny how everyday just seems to fly by without you noticing. [A pause here, as Phoenix chuckles.] To celebrate the new year in a place unlike home... its a strange feeling, isn't it? Anybody care to share their feelings with me on this? I'd like to know, if you're willing to speak up about it.

[A brief moment as Phoenix ponders on what to say now, before he does speak.] There's been a lot of things happening lately even with the festive season, so I'd like to pass my condolences to Shibusen in their losses in Europe. I really hope that situation can be resolved soon, for all of our sakes. And for those still in the clinic [which means you, Itou, and you, Ran Fan] for some reason or another, I hope you all get better soon, too.

I've talked to Edgeworth, and he agreed with it; we shouldn't have any problems now.

[A pause, as Phoenix sucks in a breath.]

So when do we begin?

Can I talk to you for a moment?

I've never had to buy presents for friends before. [She looks quiet, pensive and utterly exhausted. But her words are sure] I never really had many. The other models, back when I was younger, but I left them behind when I moved on. I always just bought little things for Miku, and... and for Yuu.

[She pauses] This'll be the first time I celebrate without him. [Her smile is sad] I didn't think I'd live to see Christmas again, but...

Despite everything I'm glad I came here. I have a reason to live now. I have friends, and people who are important to me; who I care about, and who are about me in return.

[Rei goes quiet again, running her hand through her hair, a little sheepish] If you'll forgive me for getting sentimental a moment, I wanted to thank the people I've met here. Christmas is a time of giving, of enjoying time with family and friends and good cheer. And the people I've made here have marked my life--my new life here--in a very special way.

...So thank you. All of you.

[She takes a deep breath and manages a smile]

On a lighter note, I would like some suggestions on what to give you guys as gifts. I'm afraid I'm at a bit of a loss.

[Before she shuts the communicator she looks at the newspaper again, expression worried. She's thinking about Justin, wants to ask if anyone knows anything-- but as if to not arouse further suspicion she just gives the video a tired smile and closes it.]

*Clare is looking more than a bit nervous. Of course the paper is in her hands so that's not surprising, really. It takes a few moments of gathering courage to start speaking. Random pauses in her words as spoke, asking a question she didn't want an answer to.*

So- these things... in Europe? Are they- are they commonplace that it gets this bad..?

Just- this sort of headline puts all the assurances that Death City is safe into serious question.

*Clare puts down the paper and fidgets a few moments before she shuts the video off. Worry flooding her eyes as she does.*

[When the video starts, the first thing you may notice is that Alois isn't in his own apartment. He's laying on his stomach on Hikaru's bed. His hair is messy, there's still some mascara left on his eye-lashes-- and he's wearing nothing but a very over-sized t-shirt that's just barely covering him (because c'mon, who needs pants?)]

Morning, Death City! I hope you all had great time yesterday at the festival. Because, fuck, I sure had plenty of fun! [He lets out a cheerful laughter. Someone certainly is in a good mood.]

The decorations, the dance, games, fancy lights and fireworks! [He claps his hands together.] There really should be more events like these, don't you think?

Oh, oh! And thank you all fine gentlemen and ladies who kept me busy last night. Some of you sure were rather charming~

[ooc; Everyone who I had plotted something for the festival back at that ooc-post; do you guys mind if we handwave it for now.]

[this is Asch. he's looking pretty pleased with himself.

and by pretty pleased, I mean really pleased.

why? because he and Rufus just scored a gorgeous condo. with a massive kitchen.

a kitchen he fell in love with.

so, what he says is completely expected:]

I'm surprised to say this, but... I think I'm in love.

[...or it would be, if he mentioned anything about the condo.

which he fails to do, as the screen goes black.

have a nice day, Death City. :)]

((feel free to take this completely out of context, guys! silly post is so silly ilu guys.))

Attention members of Shibusen and guests of Death City.

I am Death the Kid, the current acting Shinigami. While I hate to interrupt this festive holiday for everyone, those who may have read yesterday's and today's paper or heard the news elsewhere will realize that we have a grave situation on our hands. For those who have not heard, I will tell you now.

Several European bases were discovered to be engulfed by large, black spheres, consuming everyone and everything in it. Even those who were sent in to investigate have yet to reemerge. We are now considering all persons dead. Though their souls were detected, there are no signs of life whatsoever.

In addition, these black spheres are emitting large amounts of madness wavelength, and there has been a large influx of kishin eggs in those areas. Because of the heavy loss of their own agents, the European Shibusen branch is severely understaffed and are having difficulty controlling and maintaining those areas. After some communication between all the bases, it has been decided that we, the North American branch, as well as the Australian branch will assist in their efforts.

[there's a moment before he speaks again, his voice taking on a higher level tone of severity.]

This mission is open to guests and is completely voluntary, but it is dangerous. Only partnered pairs will be allowed and those with prior experience in missions should participate. Due to the high concentration of madness, I also insist that only those who are capable of withstanding it should go. We do not need to complicate things further or suffer unnecessary losses by having inexperienced and those susceptible to the madness fall while in combat. Our goal is to help, not make things worse.

We also do not want to leave Death City open to any possible attacks, so I also request a few experienced pairs to stay behind as a precautionary measure. I will also be remaining behind, along with Death Scythe Spirit Albarn and Professor Franken Stein.

Those who choose to go will be deployed on December 17 to the following locations: Lucerne, Linz, and Leichtenstein. You will be able to choose, though we will also place you if you are uncertain. Be prepared for extensive camping. Also, Shibusen will provide for all of your needs and gear, so you do not have to purchase anything on your own. You are free to bring whatever other necessities you may think is important for the mission, but pack light and bring only the essentials. You may need to be on the move and an efficient group should not slow others down.

I will only repeat this once: this is a high risk mission and should be taken with the utmost care and seriousness. If you would like to participate in this effort, you may sign up at the mission board or contact me directly.

Thank you for your time, and as always we appreciate your cooperation and assistance in these missions. If you have any further questions or concerns, you may ask them now.
