[OH GOD WHO IS THIS HE LOOKS HIDEOUS--

oh it's just Asch. who looks pretty haggard, considering he's come down with a rather nasty cold from a mission he and Rufus went on a couple days ago in Greenland. yeah, see, running around in the cold after being dragged into the ocean.... wasn't such a good idea. what a pain.]

First I get dragged to what seemed like the equivalent of Keterburg, get dragged into freezing water, and now I have a cold, I'm being unnecessarily fretted over, and being drugged every few hours by Rufus.

[he opens his mouth to say something else, but instead of words, a rather loud sneeze comes out.]

I hate this. I hate it a lot.

[Hey, hey! Check out this news.

Death City Times

ARIZONA BASE CAPTURED

Yesterday marked a success to Shibusen’s operations when a group of their agents took over a Witch den in Arizona. Reports say that the agents, made primarily of guest meisters and weapons, were dispatched at midnight and proceeded to raid the den, destroying it at dawn with bombs and charges. Shibusen reported one casualty among its agents during the brisk action.

The witch den is disclosed as the source of the kishin eggs that attacked Death City and New York last 16 November, which resulted in the death of over 2000 residents in New York and over 450M$D in damages.

Today's temperature's are 62/42F (17/6C).]

[Say hello to... Tavros' horn. After a second the view shifts so you can see his face instead; for those who saw him on his return the other day, he looks considerably better now, and also a lot happier.]

Heeeey, I just wanted to say that, I am feeling a lot better now, and thanks to everyone who visited me and worried about me, not that worrying is a good thing, I am just saying, thanks for that, and also-

[He aims the camera down to show off a heavily angled view of his robolegs, fully functional again. The view flips back up to his face after a few seconds.]

My leg isn't broken anymore, and they are now working again, as legs, so walking is a thing that I can do, which is a pretty cool thing to be able to do, at least I think so.

Uh, that was all I had to say, really.

[Yep.]

"Arizona base captured"... congratulations. It's funny, but I barely noticed that anybody had even left the city and the mission is already complete. I'm glad that we're successful every once in a while.

[He's noticed that he's been calling the people in the city "we" more and more often now, as if he were an official member of it and not just a temporary guest, but he'll let that one slide.]

The tours went well, too; I'm impressed that SEES has managed so much in such a short amount of time. Impressed but not surprised, mind. It just goes to show that you needn't be older to succeed in something more than those with greater experience. [Was that a subtle jab at Shibusen? Maybe.]

I had something else to... ah, that was it. Has anybody contemplated how ageing might work here? Some of the younger ones seem to be getting older, so time surely hasn't stopped for us. But if one's birthday were, say, next month, and he had one at home only six months ago, would he be another year older? Would the birthday not count at all if he wasn't?

It's a relevant issue in my mind right now, you see. [Which is to say that yes, his birthday is in December.]

[The video clicks on, shifting around a little, and for a few moments one can see Flynn, a cold cloth over one eye and a split lip. He doesn't have his armor on, and his hair is mussed. He certainly doesn't look like the prim knight of his last post.

After a moment he rethinks this and switches to text]

I'm glad to hear that the attack force has returned.

And my condolences to those that knew the solider that was lost. Any further well wishing would be hollow coming from a newcomer, so I'll leave it at that.

Have you ever used or heard someone use the expression "killing time"?

It's always bothered me for some reason. Even more so than "wasting" time. Wasting implies something has a use and cannot be taken back, which I suppose Time qualifies for. But killing... killing has so many implications one has to wonder.

Then again, during my stay here I have met with quite interesting personalities, so perhaps it's not so farfetched to think of Time as a living thing that can be killed.

Morbid as the thought might be, it does inspire one to get things done, does it not?

My condolences to those who've lost what cannot be recovered.

Coming back from a huge mission to a city that isn't in ruins from a counterattack?

Fancy that.

I don't really care what anyone says. I've earned a long nap and some tarts. Pineapple tarts. And I'm going to get them.

... After a hot bath to get this mess off. So much dirt.
