[In the very wee hours of the morning the wind can be heard howling throughout the streets of Death City. It continues to do so throughout the day and the winds begin to grow increasingly stronger.

Soon a sandstorm of tumultuous proportions is formed, and sand is flying all around. Through the streets, seeping into any windows, doors, cracks that haven't been properly sealed. There is a loud CRACK and somewhere a tree has fallen.

If you are outside it is near impossible to even open your eyes or mouth without it getting filled with sand. Best to try and find shelter immediately.

The sky, like during the storm, is a deep and bloody red]

[Some static throughout, and a fuzzy image—this storm, much like the last, is interfering with the network. Between brief bouts of fuzz and focus, Souji can be seen, standing at his window and looking out at the storm. He has a pair of glasses on, and is adjusting them along the bridge of his nose with his free hand, so he can look through them a moment, then over them, then back. Though his hair is ruffled and he looks like he just rolled out of bed, he's fairly alert.

Only the members of the Investigation Team will know why he's adjusting his glasses like he is, before he finally takes them off. They can't see through the sandstorm, but it was worth a shot.

[The static and fuzz eat the rest of the post.]

(Two things: 1. GHOST I WILL REPLY TO HEINE AND SOUJI'S TALK AFTER I'VE SLEPT I PROMISE. 2. Death City Heights residents, we have a coordination post for those of you staying behind during this event.)

As you all have no doubt gathered, Death City is currently under siege by a deadly sandstorm! All civilians have begun evacuation into the shelters located within Shibusen!

To ensure that all of the City has successfully made their way to safety, I, Sid Barret, the new Rescue Ops Commander, am giving the order to all trainees and technicians of Shibusen to help search for any civilians lost in the sandstorm.

In addition, I am giving head organization of the search parties to the trainee called Germany. Germany, your organizational skills have proved time and again to be perfect and efficient! Everyone please listen and do as he instructs!

I would also like to remind all of you that your PDA's have an SOS function! Should you find yourself in immediate danger and require assistance out on the field, do not hesitate to call! Leaving others behind is not the sort of thing the man I once was would do!

If you have questions, ask them here!

[the video feed clicks on briefly, showing Sonic hiding out in an alcove... He grins at the camera before the feed turns into a sandstorm]

[text;]

It's just a deadly sandstorm, huh? No problem! Just leave it to me. 'sides, this place has nothing on Levitated Ruins. Now THAT was a windstorm.

[ooc: Sandstorm? People in danger? how could I shut Sonic up? I'll never get any studying done ;A; He'll meet up with everyone once I finish studying for my exams, but until then, he'll be doing his own thing cause he's the Knight of the Wind /shot

[There are several soft sounds of movement, a few light taps akin to buttons being pressed and very faint noises like someone muttering to themselves. It is a little difficult to hear everything however wit intermittent interference from the storm outside.]

Ah. So pressing this will-- Wait. That's--[Static]--right. Maybe... Is this any-- Ah! I think--[Static]--got it!

Heh... that took a lot more effort than I thought.

Um... H-hello? I--[Static]--hang of this now...

G-good morning. Er... I really--[Static]--but it seems like other people--[Static]--these devices too. At least... That's what I've been told... I'm trying--[Static]--the Black Order.

[A shuffling and a few more sounds of poking and prodding and then the video feed kicks in, all be it very shaky and pixellated here ever so often from the bad connection. The visual shows part of someone's chest and shoulder in a black and red uniform bearing this symbol with a white-gloved hand pointing to it.]

Has anyone here seen--[Static]--like this symbol? I'd really much appreciate any information at all. Es--[Static]--this storm. Is the weather alwa--[Static]--?

Thank yo--[Static]--your time.

[There's a pause, and next time he speaks it sounds like he's musing aloud.]

Sid Barret, Commander of the Rescue Operations, has just assigned me to take charge of the trainees/guests during this event. I am currently at Shibusen, in the facility where we train, with some of the other trainees with me. However, there are still more of us remaining in Casualty Communal and Death City Heights, and outside.

1. Use text messages. Video and voice messages are likely to be lost or broken in this sandstorm. Use those only if you do not have a choice in the matter.

2. There are citizens and some of our own comrades still outside. Our job is to retrieve them and bring them to safe points immediately. I have marked the map of areas where we are most needed, as well as the safe points here.

3. We will go in partners and groups of four or more. Partners may go alone if they wish, but unpartnered meisters and weapons may not join the search unless they are in teams, preferably with a partnered teammate among them. Only those physically able are allowed to go. The sick and the injured should stay in Shibusen or any of the safe points and stay out of trouble.

I am assigning team leaders: China, Japan, Li Shang, Fa Mulan.

Major Armstrong, please work with your partner instead.

Those among you who are going, please do so while properly equipped against the sand.

4. Those who are still in Casualty Communal and Death City Heights are discouraged from leaving the buildings unless you are ABLE-BODIED and are able to help search for those still outside. If you are leaving, DO NOT LEAVE ON YOUR OWN. ENSURE YOUR OWN SAFETY PLEASE and report to me via DEMISE. Gather in a common area and start barricading the windows and doors to keep sand from coming in. Remain in the second to fourth floors where it is safest.

Edit: Ungarn has kindly reminded me to remind you to wear proper attire. Goggles and something to wrap around your head, mouth and shoulders should suffice. Souji has suggested that the Communal and Death City Heights should be prepared to take in the injured and other such victims. Please do so.

5. If you are outside right now and are alone, make your way back to the Communal, Heights, or Shibusen to be assigned to a rescue team.

6. If you are lost or are in danger or cannot move from where you are, press your SOS button immediately so that rescue teams may reach you.

Once again, I'm utterly useless. This is like home all over again.

I'm lucky to be here in the hospital, but I keep hearing reports of people being out in this weather...? Guys, please be safe, OK? And I doubt the hospital would mind all that much if it was the closest place you could get to. I mean, I don't think they would mind in weather like this...it wouldn't make sense if they did.

But, yes. Stay safe, guys, OK? I'd like to help, but I can't right now. If you get sick or something and can't make it to the hospital or a doctor, I'd be glad to listen to your symptoms and see what I can rack my brain to figure out what the probable cause is and how urgent it would be. That's the least I can do. He killed me, HE KILLED ME!

Stay safe, everyone.

[[ooc. yup, Lisa's stuck and bored and worried and feeling useless. :C Strikes are, as always, deleted!]]

[The feed flickers on at a strange angle, the man on the screen pulling his hands away carefully having haphazardly balanced the communicator on a narrow shelf with a jury-rigged antenna crafted from the foil lining of his pack of cigarettes. He seems to have bought himself a few seconds of relatively static-free broadcast time that way--you know, to be used for the important things. He appears strikingly nonchalant about the vagaries of his current situation.]

Right. So uh, stop me if you’ve heard this one: a funny thing happened on the way to the symphony.

See I got these tickets, dropped off by courier--some special delivery junk, or whatever. Pair of ‘em, and I think, who the hell do I know’s gonna be fool enough to send me a delivery that isn’t a pack of smokes. I mean what am I--[ static ]--with orchestra tickets?

But I went, right? Cause you never know—they could have those cigarette vendors in the lobby or maybe at intermission walking up and down the aisles with their little trays like in all those classic film noir flicks.

So there--[static]--dozing off, just a bit…and then BAMO!

[Static]--tripped-out jumbo basement temple-of-doom with some guys that seem to think the new trend in TV sets is skull shaped, because yeah there’s a marketing idea whose time has come.

[There's a rattling sound as he shakes his near-empty cigarette pack, looking concerned at the dwindling supply before he slides one out, holding it between his lips and talking around it while he begins to pat down his pockets for his lighter.]

And now there's this goddamn huge cloud of--[Static and the feed is blurred out for a few more seconds before flickering back into life]--Lawrence of Arabia or something.

I sure as hell hope someone slipped something into my smokes that’s just giving me a bad trip….

Hey, has anyone got a ligh--[The feed cuts out suddenly with just a glimpse of the communicator sliding off its precariously-balanced perch, leaving nothing but snow and white noise.]

[The video fizzes on, though it continuously breaks or fades. It shows Laguna slouched by a tree, apparently having failed to get in before the storm hit. Sand is everywhere on him, his hair, eyes, mouth, clothes, everything.

Don't worry, he's still alive, he can just barely breath and is currently trying to find the S.O.S. button.

Oh, there it is. A blip will appear at the Outer Yellow area.]
